Fulwood Connect
neighbourhood project
What is our vision?
We want to ensure that our older residents have plenty of opportunities to forge friendships and contribute the wealth of their experience for the good of the community.
Making sure Fulwood is a lively and inclusive age-friendly neighbourhood will involve everyone. We will harness the skills and passions of all residents to create social activities and practical projects that anyone can enjoy.
What's our big idea?
We know that when bringing people together to improve the neighbourhood or just for fun, the bonds they form can bridge generations and become the foundations of the informal support networks we all need as we age.
What's On
Everyone is welcome to drop in to an activity, unless it says 'must book'.
. . . watch this space . . .
Where are we?
We will start by organising activities near Fulwood shops on Brooklands Ave. As we grow we will try to cover more areas within Fulwood Ward.
These are the venues we currently use:
The Old Chapel
8a Whiteley Lane, S10 4GL
The Scout Hut
551 Fulwood Rd, S10 3QH
Forge Dam Cafe
Ivy Cottage Lane, S10 3TE

About Us
We are Fulwood residents and volunteers.
We don't have a dedicated office or buildings. we intend to use venues around the community.
We will create opportunities for everyone to make Fulwood a better place, doing things that everyone can enjoy; cooking and eating, making and creating, learning and sharing.
Our Story
For many years the Abbeyfield House on Brooklands Ave looked after elderly residents, providing a comfortable and lively home.
The Abbeyfield House closed in 2019 and it's Trustees decided to focus on community based activities in that would improve the lives of Fulwood's older residents.
Fulwood Connect is the project that has been created to fulfil this mission.
